Medical provider. Evaluate and treat urgent care patients and injured workers (Workers Comp). Perform work and sports related physicals. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner Evaluate and treat patients with acute minor medical illness, minor acute exacerbations of chronic illness, and minor injuries. Perform minor office procedures such as laceration repairs, splints, cyst or toenail excision, abscess incision and drainage, etc. Evaluate and provide appropriate stabilization for patients with acute serious medical conditions or injuries and facilitate transfer as appropriate to an emergency facility or hospital. Evaluate, treat and provide follow-up care of patients with work-related injuries, requesting referral when appropriate. Perform wellness physicals, work-related physicals (such as DOT, respirator, pre-employment) and sports physicals. Manage the patients care in a timely manner and maintain a level of productivity that is equivalent to the other providers on staff. Interact with office, laboratory, radiology, and nursing staff as part of the patient care process. Perform required quality assurance steps in the patient care process. Interpret laboratory, radiology, EKG and basic pulmonary function tests. Thoroughly and accurately document every patient encounter. Bill appropriately for each patient care visit. Respond to requests from the hospital QMP (qualified medical personnel), via telephone or in person as appropriate, for management of hospital walk-in patients. Respond to MVH for inpatient Code Blue when there is no other provider physically present in the building. Respond as appropriate to any activation of a local or state wide Disaster Code or Multi-casualty Incident (MSI). Handle all patient evaluations and transfers in compliance with federal EMTALA Regulations. Interface, as appropriate and necessary, with providers and medical personnel within and outside of Mountain View Hospital whenever necessary to ensure good patient care. Serve as the Team Leader for your assigned shift if you are the most medically qualified personnel. This may involve supervising or providing back up to other Nurse Practitioners or Physicians Assistants. Perform other duties as deemed necessary. Qualifications Education/Certification: Physician Assistant. Maintain current Idaho licensure, Federal DEA and IBOP certifications. Complete adequate CME as required by licensure. Maintain current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS. Experience: Experience working independently in a primary care, urgent care, or emergency care setting evaluating and treating a broad range of patients, in terms of age (infants to elderly), medically compliant (infectious disease, cardiac, orthopedic, etc.) and acuity level (routine, urgent and emergent). Las Vegas is the entertainment capital of the world with an excellent climate and outdoor activities. There are several National Parks within short driving distances. The airport has direct flights all over the United States and the World. The practice consists of 4 Board Certified and Fellowship trained Interventional Pain Specialists, and two Physician Assistants. We are an office based practice with satellite clinics. No hospital rounding or inpatient consults. The position has no weekends or night call. You will have significant autonomy in managing patient problems. New graduates are encouraged to apply. Didactic teaching and training will be included with focus on evidence based medicine. Spanish speaking a plus but not required. Candidate must be compassionate with a commitment to the specialty of interventional pain medicine. Nevada has no State Income Tax.

Salary: Competitive salary and benefit package. Compensation is based on guarantee salary plus productivity bonus.
