Office of Orientation and New Student Programs
Congratulations on your enrollment at Idaho State University!
We are so glad that you have made the decision to join our Bengal Family! We look forward to meeting you in person as soon as possible.
We understand that your home communities, like ours here at ISU, are experiencing a significant challenge in responding to the COVID-19 virus. We understand that the uncertainty in our nation is coinciding with the exact timing of your transition into a new collegiate experience. All of us here at Idaho State University empathize with any additional struggles you are experiencing, and we are here to help you. We wish to protect your health and safety, as we also strive to ensure that student support services like New Student Orientation are still made available to you.
Our first step in response to COVID-19 was to shift all live New Student Orientation programs at each of our Idaho State campuses to the month of August, rather than the earlier summer dates which had been posted on our website. Please do save the dates that you now see on our page, and make plans to join us for an exciting start to the fall semester.
The purpose of New Student Orientation has not changed! These live programs will be your chance to visit with faculty, staff, and peer leaders who will guide you and answer questions. You will be able to take care of any remaining business items, like payment plans, and be able to start the new semester feeling prepared. This will be your chance to participate in campus traditions like March Through the Arch and New Student Photo at the Pillars. In addition, all new freshmen and transfer students should still plan to complete the Online Pre-Orientation courses which are linked below. This must be completed before you arrive on campus in August for New Student Orientation.
We will continue to communicate with you on this page and via email if the university response to COVID-19 requires any changes to our current plans. In the meantime, please reach out to us with any questions or concerns. We are here for you! Roar Bengals, Roar!
New Student Programs consists of two steps: an Online Pre-Orientation followed by a live New Student Orientation at each ISU campus.
The Online Pre-Orientation courses are required of all freshmen and transfer students entering in Fall 2020. Complete the Online Pre-Orientation courses by logging into BengalWeb and going to the University Resources section. Information related to the module will also be emailed to students directly at their ISU email address. You will need your ISU email address and password to sign in. Contact email@example.com or 208-282-4357 if you need assistance logging into BengalWeb. For questions specifically regarding the courses, please contact New Student Programs at firstname.lastname@example.org or 208-282-4588. Tutorials are available for Online Pre-Orientation: Online Orientation Tutorial & Safe Colleges Tutorial.
**For the Safe Colleges courses, it may take up to 5 business days after being admitted to ISU for your login to work. Thank you for your patience.**
New Student Orientation (the live program held at each campus) is required of all incoming new freshmen and transfer students entering ISU in the Fall Semester of 2020. These programs are designed to support the academic and social transition of our newest Bengals into the ISU family. Attendees will interact with student leaders, enjoy meals with faculty, and learn more about student support services of ISU. See dates for August 2020 below.
