The new “I” was designed by a team of ISU civil and environmental engineering students who were assisted by faculty in the same department. ISU Facilities Services provided project management and oversight. A&E Engineering was the engineer of record and advised the team of ISU students on the design.
A Disaster Response Complex, which includes the design and construction of a collapsed structure, will be built at the Idaho State University Research Park in Pocatello to provide training for first responders in a realistic catastrophic environment.
In the PCI Big Beam Competition, ISU’s team RAMA finished second in the nation, with 56.5 points, just behind the winner, Lehigh University’s Precasta’s Paradise, which had 60 points. ISU’s Dream Beam team finished 10th with 44 points.
