Peak Performance: It Takes a Village
September 2020
Barbara Gordon, MBA, RDN, LD, FAND
Assistant Professor, Nutrition and Dietetics
A new year, a new approach...well, sort of. As the SCORE program has become more established, lots of faculty and staff have rallied to help find optimal ways to offer comprehensive and holistic health for every ISU collegiate athlete. This year, we're recognizing that community, that village, by dubbing it the ISU SCORE Peak Performance Team. And, we're committed as a team to continue to find and implement solutions for issues that can be challenging for our collegiate athletes such as struggling with body image, balancing academic and sports performance, navigating the can and cannot do's of the National Collegiate Athletic Association.
And, with out further delay, allow me to introduce the ISU SCORE Peak Performance Team:
- Sports Dietitian Natalie Christensen, RDN, CSSD, LDN
- Athletic Director Pauline Thiros, MS
- Team Physician Matt Andres, MD
- Assistant Athletic Trainer Liz Reinstein, MS, ATC/L, CSCS
- Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach Brandon Stephens, MS, CSCS, RSCC, USAW-SPL1
- Senior Associate Athletic Director External Relations Steve Schaack
- Director of Student Athlete Academic Services Laureen Orozco, MS
- Certified Counselor, Campus Counseling and Testing Center, Jennifer Meisch, PhD, LCPC
- Assistant Professor, Nutrition and Dietetics, Barbara Gordon, MBA, RDN, LDN
It takes a village and, we are so honored to be members of your village!
