Idaho Numeracy Project Resources

Numeracy Project, Numbers on floor mat with RMC logo

Have you ever wished you had a Diagnostic Assessment that would actually help you understand what a student knows and does not know in mathematics? The goal of the Numeracy project is to increase student achievement in mathematics by intentionally developing number sense through number knowledge and number strategy and, in turn, increase teacher understanding about instructional practices that target and develop number sense and place value. There are two diagnostic assessments: the GloSS and the IKAN. Then, the information from these diagnostics is used to accurately determine a course of action to support a struggling learner. The student's understandings are categorized into Numeracy Stages and provides the tools that truly targets what a student needs and then addresses those needs. The assessments and numeracy activities are available here as free resources.
