Training Opportunities

At Public Safety, we want to be seen as a resource for the campus community, so we have developed training with ISU staff, faculty, and students in mind. Whether you want to learn more about how critical incidents are handled on campus, or want to give your team the tools they need to think critically when disaster strikes, we have a training for you! Most courses are also available in-person or virtually. The information below provides an overview of several of the training opportunities we offer. Use the link below to see the upcoming courses on the Pocatello campus, or if you don't see something that works for you, please email pubsafe@isu.edu

Life Safety Leadership Training provides a background into how ISU handles emergency situations, including critical communication strategies. Participants get an opportunity to freshen up their skills by learning about what steps they can take to keep themselves and their teams safe during emergency situations where they may be asked to shelter-in-place or evacuate. This training will include a "choose your own adventure" case study discussion where participants will have the opportunity to learn about past incidents on the ISU campus and hear how decisions were made, lessons that were learned, and what implications came from the event. Life Safety Leadership Training is a preparedness tool designed to help both the individual and teams navigate emergency situations.
