Always Thinking About the Roman Empire
Hello everyone! I am a third-year mentor for Idaho State University's Honors Program. Originally I am from Idaho Falls, but my mother is from the Caribbean, and I have been able to visit/live there for a small portion of my life. It was an amazing experience, with a much different lifestyle compared to how life is in the US. Overall as a mentor, I am extremely enthusiastic about assisting students in professional development as a form of giving back from the opportunities I have been able to be a part of. Aside from school, I enjoy lifting weights and fishing, and I also have been getting into rock climbing and tennis (I am very bad at both).
Throughout my time at Idaho State University, I have gotten the opportunity to build so many connections with the amazing faculty at ISU! Having connections is important to enhancing a person's opportunities while in college. So far I have been a part of two research projects, and I am very passionate about helping other students into research, no matter their experience! Currently, I am a Digital Twin Analytics Intern at Idaho National Laboratory (INL) where I use machine learning and reactor physics to predict nuclear reactor operations! Additionally, I work as a student researcher at Idaho State University where we are creating an augmented reality application for prosthesis rehabilitation and measurement. Being involved in these projects has allowed me to grow so much personally and professionally, and it is an experience I would recommend to anyone. If you are majoring in an engineering field and are looking to get into research please reach out, and I will be happy to help you as much as I can!
