Bio
Ahmed F. Ashour joined Idaho State University (ISU) in December 2024 as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering. He has over 15 publications in international journals and conferences. His research interests include machine learning, wireless communication (5G/6G), IoT, signal processing, RFID, healthcare and others. He contributed to an NSF proposal on federated learning optimization. He is a reviewer for IEEE Access, IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology (TVT), Globecom, and several Elsevier journals. He is a Senior Member of the Egyptian Syndicate of Engineers and an active IEEE member.
Dr. Ashour previously held multiple academic positions, including Senior Teaching Assistant at ISU (USA), Senior Teaching Engineer at The American University in Cairo (Egypt), and an Instructor at AUC Robotics Association. He also worked as an Electronics Instructor for multiple technical institutions in Egypt, where he delivered courses in analog and digital electronics, PCB design, and embedded systems. Additionally, he served as an Assistant Lecturer and Teaching Assistant at AASTMT and HTI (Egypt) from 2011 to 2017.
In addition to his academic roles, Dr. Ashour worked as a Senior R&D Electronics Engineer at Falcon Electronics & Electrical Industry (Egypt), where he developed LED products, solar energy solutions, and power supplies. He was the CEO of Fast Fix Company for Construction and Maintenance in Egypt from 2014 to 2017.
