Integrity — Honesty in our actions and words

We work with students to address discourse and uncomfortable situations by building communication skills, modeling navigation of difficult conversations, serving as mediators for addressing broken community standards, and aiding students in getting to constructive outcomes in challenging situations. We help students to understand their role in the Idaho State University community, how to accept responsibility, and how to right any wrongs or hurts their actions have caused.

Community — Fostering connections

We work with students to find other students, staff, and faculty with whom to build meaningful relationships.  We share information about and encourage involvement in student organizations and campus activities that will expand student connections and help them to become an active part of our campus community.

Inclusivity — Valuing all and building a culture of belonging

We work with students to expand their experiences, support their exploration of their values in a new environment,  present new ways of thinking, and support the changing ways in which students view the world.  We encourage students to help create an environment in which all members of the community feel welcome and valued. Our office is a safe place for all students to seek support and guidance while also finding a place of belonging.

Teamwork — Collaborating with compassion and respect

We work with students to build better relationships with their peers, staff, and faculty by being open to new ideas and experiences.  Our goal is to foster collaborations that help build and sustain the Idaho State University family and to nurture the well-being and success of all members of our community. We help students navigate difficult conversations with other community members, and in doing so develop lifelong skills necessary for working and interacting with others.

Shared Responsibility — All members contributing to our success

We work with students to build better relationships with their peers, staff, and faculty by being open to new ideas and experiences.  Building community and active citizenship requires an understanding of other perspectives, experiences, and values. We work with students to help them identify their individual strengths and help them to understand how they contribute to the Idaho State University Community.

Learning — Continuous growth and development

We work with students to remove barriers to their success, provide opportunities for them to connect to valuable resources on campus, and aid them in achieving their goals, including obtaining their degree, certification, etc.  We support students in developing skills that will help them thrive at Idaho State University and beyond.
