Resume and Cover Letter Writing. Participants will learn the basics of writing resumes and cover letters in a way that will help them to understand commonly accepted formats and styles. The presenter will provide information and discussion to help participants know how to navigate the ambiguous world of resume writing. An emphasis will be placed on how to tailor the resume and cover letter to successfully get through applicant tracking systems (ATS) in applying for jobs. 1 - 2 hours.

Interviewing. Participants will learn how to answer interview questions in commonly acceptable and desired ways. A focus of this presentation is to teach behavioral responses to questions using the Background, Action, Result (BAR) format.  We also cover how to brand one's self, and to generally be seen in the most professional view possible, in order to help interviewees feel more confident and prepared. We will go through a 4 step process of answering the common "Tell me about yourself" question and how to tailor yourself and experiences to the job description. 1 - 2 hours.

LinkedIn. Participants will learn how to build a professional profile and how to use the many amazing features LinkedIn has for networking, job searching, and growing as a professional in industry. We show how to leverage the Alumni Search Tool to find people and opportunities that would be difficult to find anywhere else.  1-1.5 hours.

Values Card Sort. The Career Center owns 30 decks of the Knowdell™ Career Values Card Sort. This is an interactive and hands-on activity to clarify what is important when thinking about careers and exploring individual career values and finding meaning in careers. 1-1.5 hours.
