DEPARTMENT OF ART SCHOLARSHIPS
The Department of Art at Idaho State University has multiple scholarship and award opportunities available for students.
Students can apply for these scholarships through the ISU Bengal BOSS system.
One or more scholarships offered annually to students majoring or minoring in Art. Students must demonstrate motivation & creative ability as shown in a portfolio of slides or original works. Planning & direction are to be explained in a brief written personal statement outlining interests & goals. Applicants must have a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA, & be accepted for matriculation at Idaho State University.
Award made to a student who intends to enroll or is enrolled in studio courses in the ISU Art Department. Selection is made by Department faculty or a committee appointed by the Chair. Applicant must present a portfolio & demonstrate intent to continue creating art work. Financial need may also be considered. Awards contingent on available funding.
Awarded to a student enrolled as an Art major in the College of Arts and Letters. Recipient must be a Junior or Senior. The student must have a minimum GPA of 3.00. Financial need is required. Contact major department for more information.
Awarded to an Idaho high school graduate interested in or majoring in visual arts. Applicants must demonstrate academic ability & leadership potential. Must be a U.S. citizen. Minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA required.
The Department of Art's annual fundraiser, Art a la Carte, provides awards for undergraduate students. These awards are selected by the Department of Art Scholarship Committee and are awarded to students who apply to the Annual Undergraduate Scholarship Competition each spring semester.
The College of Arts and Letters annual New Year's Eve Gala fundraiser helps fund scholarships for high school seniors, undergraduate and graduate students. These awards are selected by the Department of Art Scholarship Committee and are awarded to undergraduate and graduate students who apply to the Annual Undergraduate Scholarship Competition each spring semester. The high school senior scholarships are selected by the Department of Art Scholarship Committee from students who exhibit in the ISU Pocatello High School Exhibition in the spring semester.
Every year, many members of our community generously contribute funds to be awarded at our Annual Undergraduate Scholarship Competition. These funds are awarded to students selected by the donor or they are awarded to students selected by the Department of Art Scholarship Committee.
