FAQ

Are there water stations along the course?

We know you’re going to need some good hydration to complete this course, so we won’t hesitate to provide several water stops along the way!

Is there a time limit?

Take your time; rest if you need a moment! We won’t worry about time limits unless the sun starts to set!

How do I get clean from the mud?

We provide a lovely hose with icy water to cool you down and clean you off at the end of the race.

Will there be medical support on site?

Though we hope no Bengal will need it, we will have trained professionals on site should anything happen.

What is the minimum age to participate?

The minimum age to participate is 14 years old.

Can I volunteer to help?

We would love to have your help! Please contact us at ambush@isu.edu

Will photos from the race be posted online?

While you race, we will be busy catching your greatness on camera! Photos will be posted on Facebook a few weeks after the completion of the race. Feel free to tag yourself and like our Facebook page so you don’t miss a thing! https://www.facebook.com/IsuAmb

Will my time be recorded?

With great prizes on the line, you can bet your stripes we will be timing the race!

Will the event be canceled if there is bad weather?

What do you consider bad weather? We consider it a natural disaster or lightning. In all other conditions, the Ambush runs on.

What if I register and cannot make it on the day of the event?

Unfortunately, your registration fee is NON-REFUNDABLE. If one of your Ambush members calls in sick, be sure to find a replacement as you can only leave the starting line with a complete ambush (4 people).

Can my friends and family come out to watch?

Friends and family are welcome to come watch you sprint from the starting line and crawl across the finish line. It’s up to you who you invite to watch you struggle through the last leg of the race covered in mud and sweat.

What do I do when I arrive on the day of the Ambush?

We ask that you arrive at least 30 minutes before your heat is set to begin. Pick up your race packet at the registration table and turn in your signed waiver forms if you have not already. Next, drop-off any belongings you’d like to keep clean of mud and tears at the designated area. All that’s left to do now is report to the starting line at the time your heat is set to begin. In the meantime, you might want to stretch; trust us on that one.

Do I have to sign a waiver to participate?

Yes, a waiver must be signed for each participant in the Ambush. You are required to sign an electronic ISU Ambush Waiver 2019

with the purchase of a registration, however if someone purchased your ticket for you, it is YOUR responsibility to pick up a waiver from the ASISU Offices or to print one out and bring it to the race. We will not provide race waivers at the event.

What is included in the entry fee?

First and foremost, your entry fee gets you the opportunity of a lifetime to run in the Ambush on the beautiful, and daunting, terrain of the ISU campus! Of course, you also get a sweet t-shirt and some other goodies from our sponsors.

What is the deadline for registration?

Registration is $25 per person until August 31st. Late registration is $30 per person and lasts until September 6th. ISU organizations and clubs may receive a special discounted rate; please contact ASISU for more information.

Where can I park and do I have to pay for parking?

Parking is FREE in the Reed Gym parking lot.

How can I become a sponsor?

If your business wants to get a little dirty while scoring some sweet exposure, email ambush@isu.edu

Is there a place to store my stuff while I race?

There will be a designated area to store your stuff while you race, but we advise not bringing diamond rings, money rolls, or any vaulables.
