VIRTUAL GET-FIT CLASSES*

Update on in-person GET-FIT Classes: Summer Semester GET-FIT classes will be offered in person based on approval from an ISU taskforce charged with keeping our campus community healthy and safe during the ROARing Back stages, as well as if Idaho meets the governor’s criteria for the stages of reopening. Currently, the decision has been made to postpone live group exercise classes until the beginning of fall semester. We will post any updates if that decision changes. Virtual classes will continue to be offered based on the schedule below until in-person classes are available.

CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

CARDIO/STRENGTH CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

Body Sculpt blends your body weight, hand weights, bands, and other equipment for a head-to-toe strength-training workout that tones muscles and burns calories while sculpting your body.

Boot Camp is an intense class that achieves a full-body workout by using all muscle groups while doing boot camp-style drills (i.e., push-ups, jumping jacks, core work).

Interval Training improves fitness, health, speed, and stamina by using short bursts of higher-intensity activities with moderate periods of recovery throughout the workout.

POUND® uses Ripstix® (lightly weighted drumsticks) to transform drumming into an effective, full-body workout that combines cardio, conditioning, and strength training with yoga and Pilates-inspired movements.

Zumba® is a class that is an absolute blast with calorie-burning, body-energizing, and awe-inspiring movements.

MIND/BODY CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

Active Pilates: This Pilates class is the perfect blend of traditional matwork Pilates, exercise equipment, and a touch of yoga. You will boost your flexibility, focus on toning your muscles, and increase your endurance.

Pilates is a combination of specific exercises and breathing techniques that strengthens and stretches muscles, especially those in the “core” of the body to achieve strength, flexibility, and coordination.

Soma Flow Yoga/Movement is a combination of Yoga asana (physical postures) and Somatic Movement Education. Somatic Movement Education is a system of neuromuscular education that allows more ease and freedom of movement in our bodies.

Yoga is offered by our certified instructors who provide instruction that draws from several styles of yoga. The instructors lead participants through a challenging sequence of yoga postures designed to provide a complete mind and body workout for all skill levels.
