Fall 2017


Beginning Stained Glass

Mondays, Session I – Sept. 17 – Oct. 22, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.

                Session II – Oct. 29 – Dec. 17, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.

$65 plus supplies

Instructor – Steve Paris

Students will learn the basics of stained glass through pattern layout, glass cutting, grinding, foiling, and soldering.  Projects will be completed using both foil and lead cane methods.  The instructor will call you a week before the first class to discuss materials so you will have time to purchase them before the first class starts.


Kids Clay After School Program (3rd Grade and up)

Tuesdays, Session I – Sept 4 – Sept 25, 4: - 5:30

                   Session II - Oct. 9 – Oct. 30, 4: - 5:30

$30 per session

Instructor: Beth Elledge

Students will learn basic hand building techniques. Class includes clay, glaze, and instruction. Parental contact information and prompt pick up of students is required.


Beginning Pottery

Wednesdays, Sept. 12 – Oct. 17, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.

$60 plus clay and glaze fees

Instructor – Beth Elledge

Students will learn the basics of throwing on the wheel.  Students will learn various decoration techniques.  The students will also develop skills that will enable them to create stable and aesthetic pieces.


 Hand building with clay

Thursdays, Oct. 9 – Oct. 30, 6:30- 8:30 p.m.

$40 plus clay and glaze fees

Instructor – Brent Lowman/Mary Miller

Students will learn the basics of hand building with ceramic clay as well as glazing techniques.


Intermediate Pottery

Thursdays, Nov. 1 – Dec. 13, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.

$65 plus clay and glaze fees

Instructor – Mary Miller with several local potters

This class is designed for students who have taken beginning pottery and would like to expand their skills.  We will offer demonstrations from several local potters and students will learn many techniques to enhance their throwing.


Funky Glass

Wednesdays, Sept. 26 –Oct. 31, 6: - 8: p.m.

$65 Includes materials for 2 small pieces, extra materials may be purchased

Instructor – Lyrl Jensen

Leave your patterns at home and step outside the candle box (hint, hint) and let your funky flag fly.  You will learn to cut, grind, foil and solder your one-of-a-kind stained glass piece.  If you have a special trinket, piece of grandma's jewelry, bring it with you and we can incorporate most anything (heat resistant) into your project. 


Glass Bead Making

Thursdays, Oct. 4 – Oct 25, 6:00-8:00 p.m.

$40 plus supplies

Instructor – Lon

This class will teach the art of wound glass bead making without investing a lot of time.  In four, two hour classes, students will use a torch to melt glass, which is then shaped into unique beads.

Class fee includes day-use fee for class times only. Day-use or membership can be purchased for additional days.


Class sizes are limited, so early enrollment is encouraged.  Call 282-3281 or come in to the Craft Shop to register for a class.  Registration is complete when the fee is paid.  Minimum registration must be met 24 hours prior to the first class or it may be canceled.  You will be notified of any cancellations and your fee will be refunded.


The Craft Shop has equipment and instructors available to teach small group classes.  Call for pricing and to schedule.  Some classes have min/max number of participants.

Glaze a pre-thrown pot. Anytime - $5 plus day use fee. The Craft Shop will have a supply of pre-thrown bowls, mugs, & tiles for students to glaze.

The Craft Shop is a mixed-media studio environment that is open to students and the community. We encourage a hands on experience where individuals are able to develop their creativity and skills. We offer individual instruction, group activities, workshops, and classes as well as supplies. Use of the Craft Shop requires a day use fee or semester membership.
