What is TRIO McNair Scholars Program?

Idaho State University’s TRIO McNair Scholars Program supports the academic achievement of first generation, limited income students by helping prepare them for graduate research and enter competitive doctoral programs.

The Ronald E. McNair Post-baccalaureate Achievement Program was established in 1986 by the U.S. Department of Education and named in honor of Challenger Space Shuttle astronaut Dr. Ronald E. McNair. The program, which has been at ISU since 2017, is funded by a five-year grant of $1,309,440 from the U.S. Department of Education.
