Fun and connection are critical components of college wellness and success, so encourage our Bengals to maximize their college experience this fall by participating in U ROAR!, a series of activities and events designed to help students make friends, form important connections, and unwind. Students can visit isu.edu/uroar to see a list of upcoming activities, which start with a phenomenal week of welcome and run throughout the semester.
Students looking for ways to meet new friends and get involved on campus should check out the Fall Student Involvement Fair on Wednesday, August 24, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the ballroom of the Pond Student Union. This event is open to all student clubs, organizations, and departments to help welcome students back to school and give them an opportunity to learn how to get involved on campus. At the Involvement Fair, students will find social clubs, special interest organizations, honorary societies, faith-based groups, Greek life, cultural and international groups and much more.
The Student Activities Board (SAB) adds their invitation to all students to come and enjoy Welcome Back! Activities during the first week of the semester. Look for the SAB booth on the Quad during the Student Involvement Fair, August 24, 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., when SAB will be hosting the first Bengal Wednesday Giveaway. Wear Bengal Gear to get Bengal Gear! Students must present a current Bengal ID card to participate.
Our CATS (Counseling & Testing) folks are hosting a Small Actions Make a Big Difference table on Wednesday, August 24, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on the Quad to promote resiliency skills and CATS services. Students are invited to drop by to get acquainted with our CATS staff, giveaways and to enter the drawing for a weighted blanket and a set of books.
SAB is hosting a Tie Dye on the Quad event on Thursday, August 25, from 4:00-6:00 p.m. (on the Quad outside of Pond Student Union). Students will have the opportunity to create their own unique tie-dye t-shirt. Free t-shirt for the first 300 students. A current Bengal ID card is required for participation.
If you know a student who is looking for part-time work to help fund their education, we have tons of opportunities, starting with the Part-time Job & Internship Fair, Thursday, August 25, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the Pond Student Union Ballroom. This is a great opportunity for students to find a part-time job or internship and to make important career connections. The Career Center staff encourages students to bring their resumes and prepare to talk to both on-campus and off-campus employers. On Friday, August 27, the Student Activities Board hosts the annual Welcome Back Paint Party on the Quad from 7:00-9:30 p.m. Live DJ, dancing, and lots of fun! Free t-shirts to the first 600 students!
