Supporting Our International Students & Study Abroad Opportunities for Domestic Students
July 7, 2021
International students and scholars coming from more than 50 countries call ISU their home and enrich the diversity of our campus. The International Programs Office (IPO) provides quality academic and regulatory advising to guide international students in adapting to the American education system.
And we’re committed! IPO advisors help prospective and continuing students right from the admissions, applications, travel, orientation, and advising processes all the way to the completion of their studies at ISU. In addition, our advisors serve as the primary liaison for governmental agencies, cultural embassies, ISU academic departments, and administrative units. Various cultural events like International Nights act as a bridge between international students and the local community.
Staff or Students interested in contacting the International Programs Office can contact us via email at ipomail@isu.edu
In addition to providing services for international students, the IPO also houses the Study Abroad program. ISU has partnerships with 15 schools in 9 countries where students can spend a semester or year, yet still pay ISU tuition.
We also partner with national affiliate programs that allow students to choose from schools on every continent except Antarctica. Studying abroad is an exciting opportunity for our students, giving them the independence of living in another country while still being a part of a university community. Many students that go abroad come back and say that their time overseas allowed them to make friends from all over the world, learn about and appreciate other cultures, and ultimately have an experience that changed their lives.
Students interested in studying abroad can contact the Study Abroad Coordinator, Kirby Sholette, at sholkirb@isu.edu.
