Equity and Inclusion
May 6, 2020
The last few months have shown us a different perspective on why diversity and inclusion is important. All over the world, we see people of every ethnicity, religion, and background coming together and putting their lives on the line in the service of others. Medical professionals, truck drivers, grocery workers, gas station employees, and janitors have led us all in helping us meet our basic needs through this period of social isolation.
We are better, safer, and stronger together.
The Idaho State University Office of Equity and Inclusion is deeply committed to facilitating unity and access for our diverse population of students, faculty, and staff. Our staff is committed to being available to provide resources, information, and support to anyone who needs assistance, and to enrich the educational experiences and successes of all members of our university community during this difficult time. We are checking in with students to ensure that they are adapting to online learning and providing them with updated resources as they are delivered to us. We want students to know that we care about them. We are here to provide support and to help ease the struggles they may be experiencing.
The Office of Equity and Inclusion includes the Diversity Resource Center, Gender Resource Center, Native American Student Services, and the Title IX Office. We are working remotely, but we are available to assist you by email or phone. Please check our websites and social media platforms to learn how to reach someone if you are in need. We are just a click away!
The Office of Equity and Inclusion will be continuing our commitment to promoting an environment in which students, faculty, and staff from all backgrounds can live, work, and learn free from the insidious and debilitating effects of prejudice. We remain available to offer support to anyone who has experienced harassment or discrimination. We will continue to provide guidance and resources to search committees in support of our diversity goals and objectives.
The Diversity Resource Center, the Gender Resource Center and Native American Student Services will continue to provide programming and education to support and engage ISU students. We look forward to continuing to find ways to engage the ISU community in sustained conversations centered on the many facets of diversity and inclusion.
The Title IX office continues to be open remotely. If you need to speak with the Title IX Coordinator about a situation, you can call or email. You can also fill out our online complaint form at https://cm.maxient.com/reportingform.php?IdahoStateUniv&layout_id=0
We will contact you remotely and are available to meet via Zoom. Arrangements can be made to meet in person as long as we practice recommended social distancing.
Thank you for all that you do. We appreciate the opportunity to be part of such a great ISU Student Affairs team!
