Do You Know Why Staying on Campus is Good for Our Students?

Aside from providing safe, clean, and affordable housing, we take as our responsibility, the duty to give every student the opportunity to succeed and graduate from the University (whether they live on campus or not). University Housing provides opportunities for student success, individual growth, developing autonomy, establishing cultural awareness, as well as understanding associated real world applications.
Students living in the residence halls have access to approximately 35 social and educational programs every semester.
Students living in the residence halls are encouraged to become strong communicators and active members of their communities.
As a result of these efforts, first-year students living in the halls at Idaho State, have higher GPAs (approximately 10% higher), on average than off-campus students.
On-campus students also have higher retention rates than their off-campus peers (this number has varied between nine and 11% higher over the last eight years).
Nationally, students living on campus feel more connected to the University and are more likely to give back to their institutions after they graduate.
Staying on campus can be a key success and retention tool. Talk about this option with the students who come to your offices. If they have questions, we’re always ready to talk! Residential Life
