Assistance with Funding
June 3, 2020
At the ISU Scholarship Office, we know how unusual things have been this spring. We know that some students and their families have been delaying decisions about college in the fall, so we have extended the scholarship acceptance deadline to July 1, 2020, for all new, incoming first year students (resident and non-resident students) who met the February 15 scholarship deadline and received a 4-year "recruitment" scholarship offer to ISU. If students are not sure they have a scholarship offer, if they can’t remember whether they have accepted their offer, or if they just want to talk to someone about the possibilities, direct them our way. They can call us at (208) 282-3315 or reach out to us at scholar@isu.edu
If a student was previously admitted to ISU, completed a deferment form, and is now planning to return to ISU earlier than he or she had intended (starting Fall 2020), let the Admissions Office know at (208) 282-4511 or admiss@isu.edu. They can update a student’s admission record and notify the Scholarship Office to review him or her for “recruitment” scholarships.” This includes students that returned early from missions, military tours, etc.
Many "auto-match" scholarship opportunities available to incoming first year students (endowed/annual funds) have also been extended in our Bengal Online Scholarship System (BOSS) to early June, 2020. If a student still needs funding or did not apply for scholarships earlier, these are still available. Students must log into BOSS and complete the short "general" application to be considered for these along with any other scholarships the BOSS system recommends to them. Visit www.isu.edu/scholarships and click on the BOSS link.
Please remind students to check their ISU email regularly because this is how we’ll communicate when new scholarships are available for application and when students have received a scholarship offer. Also remind them to check their BengalWeb. All financial aid and scholarships will pay toward your student’s account 10 days before the start of each semester. Aid will be applied to what students owe ISU, and any remainder will be sent as a refund check. Fees are due the Friday before the first day of the semester (August 14 for fall 2020), but Installment Plans and other options are available. Just have students and families reach out to us. We are ready to help!
