Scholarships for New Incoming Residents

A New Incoming (first-time) Resident is a student who is an Idaho resident and has never attended college after high school.

STEP 1

APPLY

Get Admitted by the Deadline

Fall entry: July 1st

Spring entry: November 1st

Your application for admission to ISU serves as your "scholarship application"

Requirements:

The following admissions documents must be received by this deadline to be considered for automatic scholarships:

  • Completed Application for Admission
  • Official high school transcripts (6 to 7 semester transcript will be sufficient for scholarship consideration). Students will need to have a final transcript sent to the Admissions Office upon High School graduation for completion of the admissions process
  • Unweighted GPA of 3.0 or greater, plus ACT or SAT scores are required by deadline to be considered for Presidential Tier Award
  • ACT or SAT scores required for home schooled students, GED students, and students from non-accredited high schools.  Students must have their test scores submitted to ISU by 7/1 (fall entry) or 11/1 (spring entry).

 

STEP 2

FAFSA

Complete the FAFSA

Some scholarship awarding is based on demonstrated financial need. To be considered for any need-based awards, you must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the appropriate year.

We encourage students to submit the FAFSA as soon as possible.

STEP 3

HONORS

Complete the Honors Application if Applicable

Please click on the "HONORS" button to get more information about Honors eligibility and deadlines.

STEP 4

BOSS

Apply for Additional Scholarships

Log into the Bengal Online Scholaship System (BOSS) starting January for fall admittance or October for spring admittance to apply for additional scholarships at ISU.

STEP 5

SBOE

Apply For State Board of Education Scholarships

Please click the "SBOE" button to access information regarding State Board of Education Scholarships.

STEP 6

Apply for Outside/External Scholarships

Browse the external scholarship list in BOSS more opportunities.

Also visit the National Scholarship Search Databse.

Remember, you should never pay to apply to a scholarship. Do not provide your SSN#. Be cautious of scams.
