Megan Bigham | Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology | Graduating July 2024
Doctoral psychology student Megan Bigham has recently landed an incredible opportunity. After considering several offers, Bigham has accepted a postdoctoral fellowship position in Clinical Assessment and Diagnostics with the prestigious Marcus Autism Center and Emory University in Atlanta, GA.
“This fellowship is incredibly meaningful to me on my journey to becoming a specialist in autism spectrum disorder,” says Bigham. “The Marcus Autism Center is a nationally recognized institute for providing evidence-based assessment and intervention for autistic individuals and their families as well as being on the cutting edge of research regarding early identification of autism spectrum disorder. This fellowship will be the last formal year of training I receive before I am able to practice independently and provide much needed services to those who need them.”
Bigham’s clinical expertise is in the assessment of autism spectrum disorder and other neurodevelopmental disabilities. Her research is similarly focused on autism spectrum disorder: specifically in the co-occurrence of autism and gender diversity.
“I will always be so thankful for my time at ISU,” Bigham says. “I met so many wonderful people and made lasting friends both among my peers and the faculty in the psychology department. My experiences there have truly shifted the trajectory of my life for the better, and I'm proud to have come from such a love program and home institution.”
"Meg's dedication and hard work have truly paid off," Dr. Robert Rieske, faculty member in the Department of Psychology, says. "I have no doubt that she will excel in this role, representing our program with distinction. This is a remarkable achievement."
