Eye Chart Image
PIRA 6A10.55
Have two students face each other with one of them holding the eye chart shown at left. Have them move apart until one of them can barely read the fourth or fifth line, and measure their separation. Give the student who held the chart the mirror shown at left, and give the chart to the student who earlier read it. Have the students move towards each other until the student holding the chart can again barely read the fourth or fifth line in the reflection of the eye chart in the mirror held by the other student. Measure their separation. It should be exactly half of the distance measured earlier, demonstrating that the image distance is equal to the object distance for a flat mirror.
