Toilet Paper Tug
PIRA: 1F20.15
Materials: Big Toilet Paper Roll, Little Toilet Paper Roll, 2 or 3 rods, 1 or 2 table clamps, 1 or 2 90 degree clamps
This demo is to show Newton's First Law that an object wants to stay in rest or motion unless acted on by a force. It also shows the inertia of objects with varying mass. The toilet paper is set up such that someone may be able to pull the toilet paper very quickly. The outcome is that the big toilet paper will not unroll much and only get 2 or 3 squares. While the little roll will continue unraveling representing that it wants to remain in motion and less inertia.
