The bed of nails is a great demonstration of pressure. There are two main ways that this device can be used. The first is the famous, extravagant demonstration of breaking a cinder block over someone's chest with a sledge hammer while they lie on the bed of nails. This does have obvious safety precautions and should only be performed by those confident enough to do so. A simpler (and much safer) demonstration is that a balloon can be pushed down on the bed of nails without popping.
