The equipment needed for this demonstration are as follows: the large demonstration oscilloscope, the function generator, induction coil(s). Shown here are two mutual induction coils and two other coils. Also, an iron rod can be used with the two separate coils.

The two pictures below show how to connect the coils to the function generator and the oscilloscope. The function generator is connected to the primary of the coil and the secondary to the vertical input of the oscilloscope. Two separate coils can also be used with an iron core.
