Magnetization by Contact

Materials: D Cell Battery, Nail with Wire wrapped around it, Iron Filings

This demo is to show how you can magnetize metal that wasn't initially magnetized by creating a moving charge in it. This is done by putting both ends of the wire and connect the battery up to send the charge through it and you should be able to pick up the iron filings. Then if you disconnect the battery the nail will be much weaker but it will be slightly magnetized without the battery sending charge through it.
