Dissectible Lyden Jar

Materials: Dissectible Lyden Jar, Vandegraff

This demo is to show how plastic is a dielectric. When you charge the lyden jar by holding the top to the vandegraff. Then have someone hold each part of the Lyden Jar and ask the class where the charge is at. It will be inside the plastic because it doesn't conduct electricity and students can feel it by poking their finger inside and feeling the charge.
