Charged Ovoid

Charge the metal ovoid shown at left with the Van de Graaff generator.  Use a pith ball on a thread to show that the charge density is highest at the pointy end.  Identical proof planes charged by induction an equal distance from either end, or touched simultaneously to either end will also show this when the charge they pick up is compared with an electroscope.
