Balloons in a Jar
PIRA: 2B20.30
Materials: 2 Ballons, 2 2 5/16ths pen tubes, 1 jar
This demo is to show pressure in a jar and how it wants to stay in equilibrium with the atmospheric pressure outside. You can initially blow the balloon up and keep it inflated and lock it in the jar. The balloon will stay inflated because the air in the jar is equal in pressure to the air outside. Eventually the balloon will deflate but will remain slightly inflated now because the pressure outside is higher than the pressure within the jar.
