Addressing Burnout in the Health Professions: An Interactive Online Workshop

 

The Southeast Idaho Area Health Education Center, Americorps and the Institute of Rural Health are pleased to offer our 2020 continuing education workshop. This interactive, online workshop will teach participants how to use a systems-level approach to identify signs of burnout, reduce compassion fatigue, and build mindfulness-based stress reduction skills.

Supervisors, trainers, and other organizational decision makers from all health professions will benefit from this training! Social workers, counselors, psychologists, physician assistants, pharmacists, nurses, prescribers and other health professionals are invited to participate.

Location: Online via Zoom. Connection details will be emailed when available. 

Cost: This workshop is free of charge.

All participants must register online and take a pre-test at the time of registration.

Up to two contact hours of CE credit will be awarded to participants who sign in, attend and participate in the live webinar, and complete a program evaluation and learning assessment. You may access your credits within 4 weeks. Initial release date is August 3, 2020.

This presentation provides information about the source and effects of burnout and provides participants a means of examining their agencies for ways to reduce burnout.

Learning objectives for the healthcare team

  • Apply mindfulness practice to reduce burnout through better communication, self-care, and intentional health care practice.
  • Evaluate two areas of a participant's specific agency and identify changes that facilitate communication.
  • Demonstrate ability to utilize a number of stress reduction skills in personal life and to support their use by other co-workers.
