2018 Alumni and Friends Weekend
The Annual Alumni & Friends Weekend was a great time! The weekend began with an open house where our current students were on hand to meet our 65 guests and let them know of the exciting outreach they are doing here at the college. Following the open house, our guests were treated to a wonderful dinner along with
entertainment from Roy McKee.
During the festivities we honored the class of 1968 as they celebrated their 50 year reunion. Those in attendance from the class of 1968 were Jerry Hanson, Gary Meadows, Brent Fricke, Mahi Nath, Gary Thomas and Bill Wolfe. In a casual ceremony they each received their golden Bengal pin to commemorative there reunion. The evening included a range of alumni from 1959 to 2017.
Interim Dean Chris Owens welcomed everyone and talked about the existing initiatives that are taking place at the college. He also paid tribute to former dean Paul Cady who stepped aside as the dean after nine very productive years. Paul thanked everyone for their support while he was dean and also asked our attendees to support our Centennial Campaign that concludes in 2020 as we will be celebrating our 100 year anniversary. Thereafter, Phil Yankovich discussed the campaign and how our alumni and friends can pay it forward to the current and future generations of pharmacy students by supporting the campaign.
On Saturday, over 60 people attended our tailgate and enjoyed the culinary expertise or our very own staff member Marla Jones. Marla, the food was fantastic! After the tailgate we went on to cheer our Bengals to a 62 to 28 blowout victory over the Idaho Vandals. It was a wonderful way to cap off a great weekend. Be sure to join us next year!
