Team from ISU to Attend Council on Undergraduate Research Institute: Creative Inquiry in the Arts and Humanities Institute.


A team from Idaho State University has been accepted to attend the Council on Undergraduate Research Institute: Creative Inquiry in the Arts and Humanities Institute. The institute will take place October 5-7, 2018, on the campus of Montana State University, in Bozeman.  This institute will assist campus-based teams in developing transformative opportunities for undergraduate research, scholarship, and creative activity in the arts and humanities. Participants will learn about current research on learning outcomes for students engaging in research, scholarship, and creative activity in the arts and humanities.  

Representing ISU from the College of Arts and Letters are Bethany Schultz Hurst and Jonathan Fardy. Julie Bachman from the Office for Research will be the third member of the team. 

"The College of Art & Letters is excited that faculty from the Arts and Humanities are collaborating with the Office of Research to build new and exciting scholarly opportunities for undergraduate students," Commenting on this opportunity Dean of Arts and Letters, Kandi Turley-Ames said. "This program will equip the members of the team with tools which will enhance professional experiences for students, further enhancing their skill set!"

 Deb Easterly, Assistant Vice President for Research said, "This will be a great opportunity to bring undergraduate research activities to the Arts and Humanities. ISU focuses a lot on STEM undergraduate research. The information learned at this workshop will help us expand our efforts to Arts and Humanities
