ISU Service Learning Forum - Call for Proposals and Event Information
The ISU Service Learning Forum is an event that aims to connect faculty, staff, students, and members of the community involved in service learning, and to provide resources and models for those interested in developing their own service learning projects. The Service Learning Forum is scheduled for Thursday, September 27, 2018 in the Pond Student Union on the ISU – Pocatello campus. Members of the campus and greater community are invited to attend any or all of the following events.
- 4:00 - 5:30pm: Poster-style resource fair, with presentations by faculty, staff, and students currently involved in service learning projects at Idaho State University.
- 5:30 - 7:00pm: Keynote lecture: “ "Service Learning: Why the Humanities -- and Every Other Discipline -- Needs it Now." This talk will review theories, histories, and best practices for service learning. The speaker is Roberta Rosenberg, Emeritus Professor of English, Christopher Newport University, and coediteor of the award-winning edited collection Service Learning and Literary Studies in English (2015).
- 7:00 - 8:00pm: Reception.
Faculty, staff, and students are invited to submit proposals to participate in the poster-style resource fair. The full call for proposals is available through Campus Announcements. The deadline for proposals is Friday, August 24, 2018 at 6pm, but submissions will be welcome through Monday, August 27 at 4pm.
