ISU African Student Association to host Hakuna Matata Festival on April 28

POCATELLO – Idaho State University’s African Student Association will host a Hakuna Matata Festival on April 28 at 6 p.m. in the Pond Student Union Ballroom. The festival will include different exhibits and African cultural experiences.
The Hakuna Matata Festival hopes to capture and share the essence of the African culture. The event will include:
- Traditional African food, including cultural desserts
- Art exhibitions done by African artists around campus, some of which will be for sale
- African face painting with an explanation of its significance
- Dance performances with the opportunity to learn traditional African dance moves
- Traditional African clothing that will be for sale
- Raffle
- Photo booth
This event is open to the public. The cost is $3 for students and $5 for faculty and the public. Groups of three will be $10. The money raised from this event will help fund other activities put on by the African Student Association.
