POCATELLO — Families will be able to make their own slime, learn about different languages, play with robots and much more at the eighth annual Celebrate Idaho State event Feb. 13 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Idaho State University Pond Student Union.
All activities are free at the event, which features more than 100 interactive booths. Families can enjoy a free baked potato bar, and the first 500 children will receive free T-shirts. Attendees can also receive free tickets to the Feb. 17 ISU women’s basketball game, the Feb. 24 men’s basketball game, or vouchers for free movie tickets at the Bengal Theater.
Other events include chair massages, karaoke, crafts and more. Children are also encouraged to participate in a coloring contest sponsored by Idaho Central Credit Union. Coloring pages will be delivered to area schools and handed out at the event. Colored pages will be entered into a raffle for a Nintendo Switch.
Celebrate Idaho State is sponsored by CommUniversity, a cooperative effort between community leaders, businesses and the University. The CommUniversity committee sponsors two annual events, including Welcome Back Orange and Black, a fall event where the community welcomes students back to Pocatello for the academic year.
“The Pocatello community is very generous and supportive to ISU and this event is one way ISU can give back to our community,” said Valerie Davids, co-chair of the event. “Idaho State has so many wonderful opportunities, this event gives the community a chance to interact with some of our fantastic departments and programs.”
