Psychology professor featured in American Psychological Association educational video
Joshua Swift, associate professor of clinical psychology, stars in a psychotherapy training video recently released by the American Psychological Association (APA).
In the video, entitled “Engaging and Retaining Clients in Psychotherapy,” Swift demonstrates his approach to encouraging clients to complete psychotherapy treatment, including strategies for including the client in the decision-making process. He also discusses strengthening motivation in a client and fostering the therapeutic alliance.
“Engaging and Retaining Clients in Psychotherapy” is an installment of the APA’s Systems of Psychotherapy video series. It is available for purchases through the APA website.
Artwork by associate professor of painting and drawing Laura Ahola-Young has been selected for exhibition at Site:Brooklyn Gallery in New York City and inclusion in the publication Studio Visit.
Her work will hang among other submissions in the Mixed Media exhibition at Site:Brooklyn, a gallery featuring contemporary art from emerging and mid-career artists. The exhibition runs Nov. 16 to Dec. 22.
Other work will run in an upcoming issue of Studio Visit Magazine, a series of juried artist books received by 2,000 galleries, curators and artists across the country. Ahola-Young’s submission was one of 1,000 submitted and one of only 350 selected for publication.
