October 25, 2018
POCATELLO – Idaho State University’s TRIO Access and Opportunity Programs will host First-Generation Celebration Week Nov. 5-8 to celebrate first-generation faculty, staff and students.
“I am excited for First-Generation Celebration Week because, as I was, many students at ISU are the first in their family to go to college,” Elizabeth Bowers, administrative assistant for TRIO Student Access and Opportunity Programs, said. “The uncertainty of navigating higher education can be complex and rigorous, but by celebrating ISU faculty, staff and students who were, or are currently, a first-generation college student creates the opportunity for cohesion and empowerment.

• Nov. 6, 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. – Celebrate first-generation faculty and staff panel discussion held in the Pond Student Union dining area
• Nov. 7, 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. – Celebrate first-generation students in the Pond Student Union dining area by enjoying first-generation student musical performers and participants can make their own hot chocolate.
