Education Professor Receives Recertification for National Board Certified Teacher
November 13, 2018
College of Education Associate Professor, Dr. Cory Bennett recently passed his renewal certification as a National Board Certified Teacher. Dr. Bennett first received his certification back in 2009 as a public school teacher in Hawaii.
This level of certification is often considered the "gold standard" or "Academy Award" for effective teaching and Dr. Bennett is the only person in the college with this certification. To receive this level of certification, applicants have to demonstrate leadership and positive impact on student learning in a complex portfolio of accomplishments.
Dr. Bennett has been with the College of Education for eight years and this process has been the single best professional development he has ever had and he would strongly recommend it to other master teachers.
