Colloquium on Blood Pressure Set Sept 10
ISU Physics Colloquium presents a public presentation on blood pressure Monday, Sept. 10, from 4 to 5 p.m. in the Physical Science Building, Room 108.
The speaker is Richard J Ingebretsen, MD, PhD, a professorn at University of Utah Department of Physics and Astronomy and a clinical instructor at University of Utah School of Medicine
Blood pressure is the most common and also the most important of all medical measurements. It is incredibly easy to obtain and provides valuable data for patient care. However, it is also poorly understood by most people and sadly, most doctors. A basic understanding of the simple physics involved goes a long way into understanding what our blood pressure means and the horrible consequences if it goes too high.
Cookies and lemonade will be served.
