August 24, 2017
POCATELLO- Idaho State University’s Cooperative Wilderness Handicapped Outdoor Group (CW HOG) is celebrating its 36th anniversary Pig Out dinner and picnic on Sept. 16.
Dinner includes BBQ pulled-pork sandwiches, Idaho baked potatoes, corn on the cob, a Dutch oven vegetarian dish and ice-cold beverages.
There will be kids’ activities and live music from local groups The Robertson/Mason Group and The Sons of Bannock.
The picnic will be held on Saturday, Sept. 16, at the Lower Ross Park Pavilion. Food will be served from 3:30 to 7 p.m., and the bands will play until 10 p.m.
Prices for adults are $10 advance or $12 at the park, and prices for children are $5 in advance or $7 at the park. Tickets are available at Barrie’s Ski and Sports, the CW HOG office in the lower level of the Pond Student Union and Element Outfitters/ACE Hardware.
Proceeds benefit ISU’s CW HOG program by providing staffing, trainings for staff and volunteers, equipment and financial aid to participants who would otherwise not be able to get the experiences that CW HOG has to offer.
The confidence, self-esteem, and lifelong memories that come along with challenging oneself with outdoor adventures are immeasurable and CW HOG is committed to assisting with these challenges.
