Idaho State University hires Patricia Marincic to lead Meridian campus
August 22, 2017
Patricia Z. Marincic is the new associate vice president for the Idaho State University-Meridian Health Science Center. She’ll manage campus operations, academic programs and facilitate community outreach, according to university officials.
Marincic, who took the helm Aug. 7, has more than 25 years of experience in academic administration, teaching across the health sciences, and clinical practice. She spent ten of those years as a program director and professor in ISU’s health and nutrition science department in Pocatello.
“I am delighted and excited to be back at ISU,” said Marincic, most recently an associate professor and director of Auburn University’s dietetics programs.
She also served on the Alabama Health Improvement Task Force and Health Literacy Partnership of Alabama—committees created by state leaders to tackle public health issues and improve access to health care in rural and underserved communities.
Before joining Auburn, Marincic held academic and administrative positions in Minnesota in dietetics and physician assistant studies. She holds a bachelor’s degree in dietetics from Purdue University, a master’s in applied nutrition from Colorado State University, and a doctorate in nutrition and food science from Utah State University.
"We are very excited to have Dr. Marincic back on the ISU campus. She brings a wealth of experience as a clinician, educator and administrator to the Meridian Health Science Center. There is a lot going on in the Kasiska Division of Health Sciences and Dr. Marincic’s energy and enthusiasm will serve our faculty, staff, students and partners well," said Dr. Rex Force, ISU vice president for health sciences.
Marincic replaces Dr. Bessie Katsilometes who retired last fall.
