ISU to host eclipse workshop for teachers July 10-13; applications due June 16

POCATELLO – Idaho State University has received a $110,000 grant from the Idaho State Department of Education Math Science Partnership program to provide a workshop for teachers specifically addressing engagement opportunities to expand on the total solar eclipse that will occur on Aug. 21.
The workshop will be July 10 -13, on the ISU Pocatello campus and application materials are due on June 16.
All Idaho physics, physical science, earth and space science, astronomy, and geology teachers are encouraged to apply. The focus of the workshop will be earth and space science and physics topics related to astronomy. A significant portion of the workshop will address observations and data collection for the eclipse, and lesson plans for student analysis of shared eclipse data.
