ISU director of public safety Lewis A. Eakins made presentation April 13-14 in Sun Valley.


Lewis Eakins made a presentation during the Idaho Prevention and Support Conference on  the topic, "Active Shooter Events: Considerations for Planning, Exercises, and Survival." He discussed trauma, safety, and legal considerations of active shooter exercises and drills; relevancy of "run, hide, fight" for a K-12 environment; reunification and academic continuity; and several other thought provoking factors for surviving an active shooter event. This annual conference is sponsored by the Idaho State Department of Education.
