2017 ISU Health Fair offers health services to community
February 28, 2017
POCATELLO – The 2017 Idaho State University Health Fair will once again be offering numerous free and reduced-cost health care services, health information booths and family-friendly activities for the entire community.
The event will take place on March 16 and 17 from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the ISU Pond Student Union Ballroom in Pocatello.
However, you don’t have to wait until the event to take advantage of the Health Fair’s biggest services.
Blood screenings at the Health Fair are always offered at extremely reduced rates. For $40, attendees can have all of the following tests performed:
- HDL, LDL VDL Cholesterol Test
- Triglycerides Test
- Blood Sugar Test
- Liver, Kidney, Muscle and Heart Function
- Complete Blood Count
- Thyroid Stimulating Hormone Test
Other tests are available and members of the community can either have their blood drawn at the Health Fair or make an appointment with the Bengal Lab ahead of time for a blood draw so the results will be ready to be interpreted at the Health Fair.
The Bengal Lab is located at room 161 in the College of Pharmacy, which is housed inside Leonard Hall near the south end of the ISU quad. Parking is available in the ISU general parking lot, look for the signs that say “Bengal Lab Parking Only.” The Bengal Lab is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday or by appointment. For more information or to schedule an appointment, call (208) 251-6260. The reduced price screenings are available now until the end of March, but the Bengal Lab is open to anyone in the community year round.
In addition to blood screenings, this year’s Health Fair will feature more than 70 learning centers, health booths and displays with interactive games and prizes for all ages. Those in attendance can expect to see booths featuring functional fitness tests, foot exams, nutritional counseling, dental screenings, hearing screenings and much more. Event parking is free in the Pond Student Union parking lot.
