ISU Pinyon Jay Press to hold Papermaking Open House and Letterpress Make and Take Studio

POCATELLO – Idaho State University’s Pinyon Jay Press will host two events in November including a papermaking open house and a make and take studio.
- Nov. 4: Good Impressions Letterpress Make and Take Studio with graphic design professor emeritus Paula Jull – 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Liberal Arts Building Room 139.
- Nov. 7: Papermaking Open House – 5 to 7 p.m. in the Fine Arts Building Room 407. Attendees will be able to drop in and participate in making handmade paper with art professor Naomi S. Velasquez .
All events are open to the public. The papermaking open house is free of charge; the Letterpress Make and Take Studio has limited space and a deposit/materials fee of $10 per participant. The Pinyon Jay Press is a collaborative venture between the Department of Communication, Media and Persuasion, the Department of English and Philosophy and the Department of Art. Housed in the VisComm Experimental Lab in the Liberal Arts Building at ISU, it provides faculty and students the opportunity to learn the art of fine letterpress printing and to explore various forms of expression that involve image, text, or a combination of the two.
