Naomi S. Velasquez, Associate Professor of Art and Chair of the Department of Art at Idaho State University, exhibits in New York, Oregon and California


Intersections, a solo fiber and book arts exhibition by Naomi S. Velasquez, is on display from October 19 – November 17, 2017 at the Paragon Art Gallery Center at Portland Community College's Cascade Campus. The gallery is located at 815 Killingsworth, Portland, OR, 97217. The opening reception for Intersections was held on October 19 from 4PM-7PM. Velasquez will host bookmaking workshops for community members on Friday, November 17. Gallery Hours are TuesdaySaturday12PM - 5PM. pcc.edu/paragongallery

 

Velasquez' artwork, Masque, was juried into the 14th annual international exhibition Quilt Visions: Interpretations at the Visions Art Museum: Contemporary Quilts + Textiles in San Diego, CA. Interpretations will be exhibited from October 21-January 7, 2018. 36 artists were selected by jurors Pamela Allen, Eszter Bornemisza, Rosalie Dace. http://www.visionsartmuseum.org/

 

Velasquez' artwork, Tumbling, was juried into the international Quilt=Art=Quilts exhibition at the Schweinfurth Art Center in Auburn, New York. The exhibition will run from Oct 28, 2017 - Jan 7, 2018.This year's exhibit features work by 65 artists from all across the U.S., in addition to Switzerland, Israel, Belgium, and Canada. Jurors Jeannette DeNicolis Meyer, Marcia Young, and Joan Schulze selected 74 works from a total of 326 submissions. http://www.schweinfurthartcenter.org/
