POCATELLO – The Idaho State University Department of Art and the School of Performing Arts received grants from the F.M., Anne G., and Beverly B. Bistline Foundation to support guest artists and directors in the fall semester.
The grant will support three visiting artists and exhibitions, workshops and artist lectures in ISU’s Transition Gallery, and a guest director for the musical “Next to Normal.” The guest director will also hold master classes and outreach workshops.
The grant for the School of Performing Arts is for $10,000 and the grant for the Department of Art is worth $2,458.
The Bistline Family Foundation was founded by Beverly Bistline to pay tribute to her parents and their commitment to the arts. Bistline was a former state legislator, a veteran in the U.S. Navy, and an attorney who was the 26th woman admitted to the Idaho State Bar. She had a firm belief that the artistic growth of a community was as important as its economic growth, and she became well known in and around Pocatello for her commitment to the arts.
