May 3, 2016
POCATELLO—Stephanie Greeson and KC Anderson, Idaho State University undergraduate anthropology students, have been selected as the Career Path Interns of the Month for May by the ISU Career Center.
For their current internships they are working in the Earl H. Swanson Archaeological Repository of the Idaho Museum of Natural History. They have made headway in the processing and curation of archaeological materials collected during the last 60 years from across southeastern Idaho.
This team has succeeded in bringing 6,000 artifacts from 82 different archaeological sites up to current curation standards, which will ensure these artifacts are properly preserved for future generations.
As part of the project, these interns gained valuable experience in archaeological analysis and uncommon exposure to the large variety and numbers of archaeological objects museums hold, giving them a head start in their career paths.
The purpose of the Career Path Internship Program (CPI) is to provide goal-oriented and meaningful job experience and experiential education that is aligned with a student’s academic major and career goals.
