November 8, 2016
POCATELLO – On Monday, Nov. 28, Idaho Lt. Gov. Brad Little will speak on behalf of the Idaho State University College of Business’s Wells Fargo Speaker Series.
Students, faculty, staff and the public are invited and welcome to attend lunch at noon and the presentation from 12:20 to 1 p.m. in the Wood River Room of the Pond Student Union on ISU’s Pocatello campus.
“We are very excited to have Lt. Gov. Little as our keynote speaker this semester,” said John Ney, director of professional development and marketing professor for the ISU College of Business. “We believe that since his office spearheads the state’s efforts on trade and business commerce in Idaho and the fact that he is so well respected by business and community leaders throughout the state on both sides of the political isle that he will be ideal for our speaker series. It is also a great opportunity to show our business students the major roles government and public service play in the business world.”
Little’s presentation marks the first Wells Fargo Speaker Series presentation for this academic year. Each year, Wells Fargo sponsors a series of professional speakers from renowned businesses and organizations from across the northwest. Wells Fargo’s contributions are the driving financial force behind the Professional Development program at the ISU College of Business, which hosts numerous events throughout the school year to help students develop career-ready skills, gain internships, perfect resumes and network with potential employers prior to graduating.
Last spring, Wells Fargo donated an additional $20,000 to the program helping to continue the College’s tradition of building a career culture through these Wells Fargo Speaker Series Events, Professional Development week and other networking activities hosted by the Professional Development program.
Over the years, the Speaker Series has featured speakers such as the most recent Frank VanderSloot, CEO of Melaleuca; Dan Ordyna, CEO of Portneuf Medical Center; Sarah Calhoun- CEO of Red Ants Pants; Linda Leeuwrik, local president of the American Association of University Women; S. Todd Cooper, senior vice president of Wells Fargo; and Roger Akers- Managing Partner of Aker’s Capital.
